Pune, 15th October 2024: Indian Railways has introduced a new QR code payment system at Pune Station, offering passengers a faster, safer, and more convenient way to purchase Reserved, Unreserved, and Platform Tickets. This initiative aims to streamline ticket transactions while enhancing security and transparency.

Under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey, the QR code payment system is being actively promoted at Pune Station. To raise awareness, the Commercial Department staff, led by Hemant Kumar Behera, Divisional Commercial Manager, organized an informative campaign that included banners, posters, and a street play. The street play highlighted the advantages of digital transactions, attracting a large crowd of passengers who learned about the ease and security of using QR codes for ticket purchases.

The key benefits of this system include reduced transaction time, the elimination of the need for cash or small denominations, enhanced security through encrypted transactions, and increased transparency.

Speaking about the initiative, a spokesperson from the Pune Division of Central Railway said, “Our goal is to provide passengers with seamless travel experiences. The new QR code system simplifies the ticketing process, helping to reduce congestion at ticket counters while ensuring secure transactions.”

Indian Railways and the Commercial Department of Pune Division have urged all passengers to take advantage of the new QR code payment system for ticket purchases at the counter. This move marks a significant step towards digitalizing the railway ticketing system, ensuring efficiency and convenience for travelers.
