Pune: Col. Bhagat English School Dominates with 10-0 Victory in Fr. Schoch Memorial Hockey Tournament Opener
Pune, 26th November 2024: Col. Bhagat English School ran riot with a huge 10-0 win over Ramchandra Gaikwad H.S on the opening day of the prestigious Fr. Schoch Memorial Hockey Tournament, at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar, Pimpri, on Tuesday.
The tournament is being organised by Loyola High School along with ELAN (Ex-Loyola Alumni Network) exclusively for school children for the fifth year in succession.
The highlight of the day was Col Bhagat School who were led by a three-goal effort by Faizal Shaikh (15th, 16th, 55th) with Kadar Khan (25th – p.c, 46th) netting a double. Abhishek Kumar (2nd – p.c); Shahid Shaikh (3rd); Numair Shaikh 30th; Arbaz Khan (32nd) and Maruf Khan (51st – p.c) completed the tally.
In the Under-19 girls section, Khadki Education Society and Lokmanya Tilak H.S won their matches against New Millenium and Anglo Urdu H. S (Abeda Inamdar).
Khadki Education Society won 4-0 with Sidddi Gawali (14th, 59th), Sapna Wadar (16th) and Sheh Bendre (45th) scoring.
Later, Lokmanya Tilak HS hammered Anglo Urdu Girls 7-0. Manvi Juswale (25th & 45th) and Pinki Chavan (46th & 56th) scored a brace each. Vaishnavi Malme (5th),Pushpalata Akhade (8th), Anjali Zombade (18th) completed the tally.

Meanwhile, St. Patrick’s HS (Under 12 boys, Under-14 girls, Under 19 girls) and Delhi Public School (Under-17 boys, Under-14 girls) pulled out of the competition on the opening day pushing the schedule topsy turvy.
