Pune: Indian Oil Lift Men’s and women’s team titles at 43rd PSPB Inter-Unit Lawn Tennis Tournament 

Pune, 29th November 2024: Indian Oil Corporation Limited lifted the Men’s and the Women’s team Championship at the Bharat Petroleum Organized 43rd PSPB Inter-Unit Lawn Tennis Tournament  which is being organised by Bharat Petroleum and played at the Deccan Gymkhana Tennis Courts

In a close contest, IOCL edged out ONGC 2-1 in the men’s team for the title while the IOCL women’s team scored a 2-0 win over GAIL.

Davis Cuppers Divij Sharan and Rohan Boppanna came from behind to clinch a three set thriller against Vishnu Vardhan and Yuki Bhambri winning 6-7(5), 7-6(5), 10-7 in the third match after both teams won one singles each. Vishnu Vardhan won his tie for GAIL team while Sumit Nagal won his match for IOCL.

In the women’s event IOCL registered a 2-0 win over GAIL in their last league match, Riya Bhatia scored a 6-3,6-3 win against Laxmisiri Dandu while Olympian Prarthana Thombre proved tough for young Sohini Mohanty winning 6-3, 6-3.

In the Veterans event, BPCL continued to dominate  as  top seeds Rajkumar Dubey and Munesh Sharma of BPCL A scored a 6-1 win over Ravindra Pinjarkar and Durgesh Singh (GAIL)
