Pune, 27th February 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to present its budget for the financial year 2025-26 on 4th March. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale will unveil the budget in the Standing Committee meeting, marking his first budget presentation for the civic body.

Traditionally, the PMC budget is presented in the second week of January. However, since the appointment of administrators, the trend over the last three years has shifted to a March presentation. This year, the former ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) had instructed its corporators and MLAs to submit proposals seeking substantial funds, a move that sparked criticism.

With Dr. Bhosale now set to present the budget, political observers are keen to see whether it will be shaped as a development-oriented budget or an election-focused one.

Key city issues such as traffic congestion and water supply for newly incorporated villages are expected to be addressed. The Missing Link project, aimed at easing traffic, along with proposed flyovers and grade separators at crucial intersections, may receive significant financial allocation.
