Pune: NCP-SP Stages Symbolic Holi Protest Against Mahayuti-Led Maharashtra Government
Pune, 13th March 2025: The Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) staged a symbolic Holi protest in Pune, criticizing the Maharashtra Government’s handling of economic issues, inflation, unemployment, and law and order. The event, held at the NCP Bhavan, involved burning effigies of Valmik Karad, Prashant Koratkar, and Rahul Solapurkar, symbolizing the party’s opposition to the government’s policies.
NCP-SP Pune City President Prashant Jagtap stated that Holi is traditionally a festival that burns away evil practices, and through this symbolic act, the NCP-SP aimed to condemn the alleged negative tendencies of these individuals and the government’s overall performance. Jagtap emphasized that the protest was a call for the government to adopt better governance and address pressing issues affecting the state.
This protest comes amid broader dissatisfaction with the government, including concerns over rising crime rates in Pune, such as the recent Swargate Bus Depot Rape Case. The NCP-SP’s move is part of its ongoing efforts to highlight the government’s failures and push for reforms.
