Pune, Mumbai to clash for Junior final of Asmita Hockey State League
Pune, 14th March 2025: Pune will take on Mumbai City in the final of the Junior Category in the Asmita Hockey State League at the Maj. Dhyan Chand Hockey stadium.
In the semifinals, Pune downed Kolhapur 7-0 in a one-sided affair, while Mumbai pipped Satara 4-3 after playing out a 1-1 draw and winning the shootout 3-2.
Pune were led by a four-goal effort by Tanushree Kadu (17’, 22’, 37’ – p.c, 58’), while Sanika Mane (18’ 47’) netted two and Diksha Shinde (6’), Sayma Tamboli (11’) added to the scoreline.
In the second semi between Satara and Mumbai both shared the scoreline 1-1 each at full time. It was Satara who opened via Vedika Waghmore (5’) before Mumbai leveled through Prapti Sawant (49’) who converted a penalty-corner and pushed the game into the shootout.
In the shootout Satara scored through Shreya Chavan, Vedhika Waghmode and Mumbai City had Roshani Patel, Laxmi Yadav score to make it 2-2.
For Satara Anuska Kenjale, Anuradha Thombare and Siddhi Kenjale missed their attempts for Satara, while Kiran Saroj, Wilona Rodrigues. Trisha Guntuk missed for Mumbai in the shootout.
With the score tied at 3-3 it was Mumbai who had Roshani Patel net the winner after Vedhika Waghmode missed for Satara.
