Miscreants Charged with Vandalism in Balewadi Paraded as Punishment

Baner, 18th March 2025: In a strong display of zero tolerance towards crime, Pune Police paraded a group of miscreants arrested for dacoity and vandalism through the very area where they had attempted to spread terror. The move was aimed at sending a stern warning against criminal activities.

On the night of 15 March, 7-8 youths armed with sticks and swords vandalized property near Kaizen Society in Balewadi, under the jurisdiction of Baner Police Station. Following a complaint by local resident, a team led by Senior Police Inspector Navnath Jagtap, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Khadki Division) Vithal Dabade, arrested seven individuals from Wakad and charged them.

To reinforce law and order, the arrested suspects were publicly paraded across the jurisdiction on Monday. Speaking about the action, Senior Police Inspector Jagtap stated, “Anyone who disturbs social peace and commits a crime will receive no sympathy. We have zero tolerance for crime, and strict action will be taken against offenders.”

Residents of Baner and Balewadi have welcomed the move, praising the police for taking a firm stand against criminal elements in the area.
