Pune: Khadki Ammunition Factory Employee Caught Stealing Ammunition; 22 Rounds Seized

Pune, 29th March 2025: A 39-year-old employee of Khadki Ammunition Factory was caught red-handed while attempting to steal ammunition. In a joint operation, the Military Intelligence unit of the Army’s Southern Command and the police apprehended the accused and seized 22 rounds from his possession.

The accused, identified as Ganesh Vasantrao Borude, a resident of Kalpataru Society on Kharadi Road in Chandan Nagar, was arrested following a tip-off. The case was registered by junior engineer Jayendra Kasture at the Khadki Police Station.
Upon receiving information about the theft, intelligence officers alerted factory authorities, and a trap was set near Gate No. 12 to catch the suspect.

On Friday evening, around 5:30 PM, Ganesh attempted to leave the premises. Officials detained him and conducted a search, leading to the discovery of 22 stolen rounds hidden in the storage compartment of his two-wheeler.
During interrogation, Ganesh admitted to stealing the ammunition. Police are now investigating whether he has stolen rounds on previous occasions and if he was involved in their illegal sale.

He has been booked under the Indian Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is underway, with Sub-Inspector Chougule leading the probe.
