Pune: Traffic Diversions At Golibar Maidan For Eid-ul-Fitr Namaz; Check Alternate Routes Below!
Camp, 30th March 2025: In view of the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Golibar Maidan, the Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions in the Cantonment area on Monday (31st March). The restrictions will be in place from 6:30 am to 11:30 am to ensure smooth vehicular movement, as a large number of Muslim devotees are expected to gather for the Namaz.
The prayers will be held at the Eidgah ground at Golibar Maidan following the sighting of the moon on Sunday (30th March). Considering the expected crowd, traffic between Bhairobanala Chowk and Golibar Maidan Chowk on Solapur Road will be restricted.
Heavy vehicles heading towards Swargate from Solapur Road will be diverted left at Bhairobanala Chowk and routed through Prince of Wales Road and Lullanagar. Vehicles traveling towards Pune Station and other parts of the city will be prohibited from entering the restricted zone.
For light vehicles, an alternate route via Empress Garden has been designated. Vehicles coming from Swargate towards Golibar Maidan will be diverted at Seven Loves Chowk (Dhole Patil Road) and directed through Salisbury Park and Khatav Bungalow towards Lullanagar or Solapur Road. Additionally, the stretch between Solapur Bazaar Chowki and Golibar Maidan Chowk will remain closed to traffic.
Commuters traveling through the Cantonment area have been advised to use alternate routes such as Khane Maruti Chowk, Pulgate Bus Stand, Solapur Bazaar Chowk, Napier Road, and Khatav Bungalow Chowk. Vehicles coming from Lullanagar Chowk towards Golibar Maidan will not be allowed.
DCP (Traffic) Amol Zende has appealed to commuters to follow the instructions and use alternative routes to prevent inconvenience.
Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate and adhere to the traffic regulations during the festival to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
