Pune, 5th April 2025: The controversy surrounding the tragic death of Tanisha Bhise has intensified after a preliminary report from a state-appointed inquiry committee placed serious blame on Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. Tanisha, the wife of BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe’s personal assistant Sushant Bhise, reportedly died after the hospital refused to admit her during a medical emergency.

On Saturday (5th April), Tanisha’s family met with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who assured them that strict action would be taken against any doctor found guilty of negligence. “Those responsible will be punished,” he told the grieving family, adding that steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

Following the meeting, the Health Department’s inquiry committee submitted a preliminary report to the government. The report squarely criticized Deenanath Hospital for its refusal to admit the patient, calling it a grave error. The committee is currently working on a detailed report, which is expected within the next two days. All medical documents and reports related to Tanisha’s case are being examined as part of the investigation.

Speaking to the media, the Bhise family reiterated their earlier claims and said they have provided all related information to the police. “What happened wasn’t just negligence—it reflects deep flaws in the healthcare system,” a family member said.

The family has demanded that the license of Dr. Ghaisas, a doctor associated with the case, be revoked. They also appealed to CM Fadnavis to ensure justice is delivered and that the hospital is brought fully under charitable regulation so that no patient is denied treatment again.

“We are not misled by words. Show us the CCTV footage from that day. If you claim the patient was critical, why wasn’t even a basic injection or medicine administered?” the family asked in frustration, expressing their anger not just at individuals, but at the hospital’s overall system.

As public pressure grows, the spotlight remains firmly on hospital accountability and the larger question of access to emergency care in charitable institutions. The final inquiry report is expected to shape the next steps in legal and administrative action.
