Tanisha Bhise Death Case: Women’s Commission Chief Slams Hospital For Negligence; Vows Action And Justice
Pune, 7th April 2025: In a deeply troubling incident at Pune’s Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, the death of Tanisha Bhise — wife of BJP MLC Amit Gorakhe’s aide Sushant Bhise — has sparked outrage and allegations of medical negligence. Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission, Rupali Chakankar, met with the grieving Bhise family on Monday and expressed strong disapproval over the hospital’s handling of the case.
Chakankar stated that the hospital reportedly avoided providing timely medical care to Tanisha, who was in need of urgent treatment. “Every mother dreams of holding her child — today that dream has been shattered,” she said, condemning the administration’s alleged carelessness. She also pointed out that the Bhise family had shared their entire harrowing experience with her during the visit.
Highlighting concerns over patient confidentiality, Chakankar criticized the hospital for revealing private details that should have remained confidential.
She further assured that strict action would follow. “The hospital will be firmly reprimanded. The government-appointed committee’s report will be submitted to the Police Commissioner’s office, and discussions will also be held based on the official police statement,” Chakankar added.
The case continues to raise serious questions about hospital accountability and the protection of patients’ rights in private medical institutions.
