Pune: 20-Year-Old Student Dies On The Spot In Cement Truck Collision While Avoiding Road Sewage
Sinhagad Road, 27th June 2025: A 20-year-old college student died on the spot in a tragic accident near Mahadev Nagar on Sinhagad Road on Thursday (26th June) afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Sai Bhagwat, a talented Arts student from Fergusson College. Sai was struck and killed instantly by a cement truck after she veered her two-wheeler slightly to avoid sewage water flowing on the road.
According to the information received, Sai was returning home after classes when the incident occurred. While passing through Tukainagar, she attempted to steer away from the untreated sewage water that had spilled onto the road. In doing so, her vehicle moved slightly off course and was hit by a fast-approaching cement truck from behind. The impact was fatal, and she died on the spot.
A resident of Bhansali Complex in Vadgaon, Sai was known as a brilliant and multi-talented student. She had made her mark in Pune’s theatre circuit, winning accolades in cultural competitions including the prestigious Purushottam Karandak. Beyond academics and stagecraft, she was actively involved in social work through various student committees and organizations.
Assistant Police Inspector Sameer Kadam is investigating the case under the supervision of Police Inspector Dilip Daingade.
