Goonj: KavitaKAFE to Celebrate Pune’s Poetic Voices at Monalisa Kalagram on June 29
Pune, 27th June 2025: KavitaKAFE, a vibrant collective dedicated to promoting Hindi poetry and storytelling, is set to host its much-anticipated event, Goonj, on June 29th at Monalisa Kalagram, Koregaon Park, Pune.
The event, scheduled from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, will bring together some of Pune’s talented poets and storytellers, including Vaibhav Malpani, Anjali Chimurkar, Rourchelle Dabral, Devv Singh, Atul Ade, Ragini More, and Neha Joshi, offering them a stage to share their original creations with an appreciative audience.
Over the past months, KavitaKAFE, in association with Monalisa Kalagram, has organized a series of successful open mic events such as Aarambh, Baatcheet, Suno-Sunao, Abhivyakti, and Kavya-Katha. These gatherings have played a pivotal role in encouraging Hindi poetry reading and writing, especially among the youth, fostering a supportive community for budding and established writers alike.
Beyond open mics, KavitaKAFE’s commitment to social impact is exemplified by its initiative, Healing Verses. Under this banner, the group has organized poetry and music sessions at old-age homes and hospitals, including Aaji Care, Cipla Palliative Care Centre, and Vrindavan Old-Age Home. These sessions aim to bring comfort and joy to residents and patients through the healing power of words and music.
Looking ahead, KavitaKAFE plans to expand its reach to more health centres and old-age homes, spreading happiness and solace through creative expression. Founder Garima Mishra, who recently opened the Sufi and Qawwali show for renowned singer Aanchal Shrivastava, emphasizes the group’s mission to make poetry accessible and meaningful for all. Goonj promises to be another step forward in this inspiring journey.
