Heated Clash Between NCP (Ajit Pawar Faction) and Shinde Sena at Mohalla Committee Meet in Pune
Pune, 28th June 2025: A Mohalla Committee meeting meant to address civic issues in the Dhankawadi-Sahakarnagar region turned into a political battleground on Thursday as representatives of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction engaged in a heated verbal clash.
The meeting was organized to hear local residents’ concerns on civic amenities, waste management, and unauthorized constructions. However, tensions flared when a woman office-bearer from a Padmavati-area housing society complained about alleged illegal activities taking place in a nearby slum and requested action.
Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Kamble attempted to intervene, which was immediately opposed by Subhash Jagtap, Pune city president of the NCP’s Ajit Pawar group, triggering a sharp exchange of words.
When Kamble later got a chance to speak, he accused Jagtap of being politically connected to the very slum in question, escalating the argument further.
What began as a citizen-focused forum to resolve public grievances ended up exposing the friction and rivalry between two partners of the state’s ruling alliance, drawing significant local attention.
