Hinjawadi, 5th July 2025: Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) MP Supriya Sule has held the Maharashtra State Government fully responsible for the recent surge in crime across Maharashtra, citing a central government report that confirms the increase. Speaking to the media after reviewing issues in Hinjewadi on Friday, Sule emphasized that the report was prepared by the government itself, not by opposition parties, and highlighted a notable rise in criminal incidents in Pune.

Sule pointed to a recent case in Pune’s Kondhwa where a young female software engineer was assaulted in her own home, underscoring the growing threat to public safety. She asserted that the state government must be held accountable for the deteriorating law and order situation.

When asked about the joint victory rally of the Thackeray brothers following the suspension of the Hindi language imposition decision, Sule praised the Thackeray family’s significant contributions. She remarked that “Thackeray is not just a surname; every Shiv Sena worker is a Thackeray,” and welcomed the unity of the two family members, stating it benefits the Marathi community and serves the greater good. Sule also reflected on the legacy of the late Balasaheb Thackeray, noting his enduring impact on both the state and the country, and insisted that no force could diminish the Thackeray family’s influence.

Addressing ongoing speculation about a possible merger of the two Nationalist Congress Party factions, Sule dismissed such discussions, stating that there have been no talks about unification. She clarified that all members are currently focused on serving the state and the nation, firmly rejecting rumors of a merger.
