Pune: Bike-Borne Robbers Target Two Men in Koregaon Park, Police Launch Probe
Koregaon Park, 7th July 2025: Two separate incidents of robbery involving assault and threats were reported in the Koregaon Park area, raising concerns about public safety in the upscale locality. In both cases, the victims were attacked by bike-borne assailants who robbed them of mobile phones and cash before fleeing the scene.
In the first incident, which occurred around 2:30 pm on July 3, a man from Khondachiwadi in Daund taluka was leaving the Wadia College premises when he was intercepted near the MSEDCL office in Koregaon Park. According to the police, the victim was approached by two individuals on a motorcycle who threatened him with a crowbar, assaulted him, and warned him against raising an alarm.
“The suspects snatched his mobile phone worth ₹10,000 and fled the spot. Based on the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered against four unknown individuals,” an official from the Koregaon Park police station said.
Police Constable Lonkar has been assigned to lead the investigation.
In the second incident, which took place on June 16 around 11:30 pm, another resident of Koregaon Park was robbed near the Chandrama Hotel. While he was walking through the area, two men on a bike allegedly punched him on the nose, brandished a knife, and threatened him with further harm. The assailants then looted his mobile phone and cash before escaping.
Separate First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered in both cases, and police teams are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering clues to trace the culprits.
“We are taking these incidents seriously. Patrols have been increased in Koregaon Park and surrounding areas during late-night hours to prevent such crimes,” a police official added.
