Pune Porsche Accident Case: Teen’s Family Tried Bribing Aundh Hospital Doctors to Tamper Blood Sample
Pune, 10th July 2025: The Maharashtra government on Tuesday submitted fresh evidence before the Pune Sessions Court, alleging that the parents of the 17-year-old accused in the Porsche crash case, along with a co-accused, attempted to bribe doctors at Aundh District Hospital to manipulate the teenager’s blood sample. However, the doctors reportedly refused the offer and turned them away.
These new details were presented before Sessions Judge K.P. Kshirsagar as part of the ongoing investigation into the manipulation of blood samples following the fatal crash in Kalyaninagar, which killed two tech professionals in May.
Bribe Attempt at Aundh Hospital Failed
Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hiray revealed that the accused, after successfully tampering with the blood sample at Sassoon General Hospital, tried to repeat the act at Aundh District Hospital.
“The boy’s parents and a middleman approached Aundh hospital doctors with an offer to alter the blood test results, but the doctors declined and did not cooperate,” said Hiray. “We have submitted statements from the Aundh hospital staff, investigating officers, and other witnesses that support this allegation.”
The attempt was not immediately reported to the authorities, but came to light later during police interrogations.
Why No Separate FIR?
Asked why a separate First Information Report (FIR) wasn’t filed for the attempted bribery at Aundh, Hiray clarified that the incident is being treated as part of the larger conspiracy already registered with Yerawada Police.
“This offence is linked directly to the primary case, so there’s no requirement for an independent FIR,” he said.
Police: Aundh Doctors Revealed Attempt During Questioning
ACP (Crime) Ganesh Ingale explained that the hospital staff did not initially report the bribe attempt to law enforcement.
“Only during our inquiry did the doctors confirm that they had been approached with an offer to tamper with the blood test. However, they stood firm and refused,” Ingale said. He also noted that the specific amount of the alleged bribe was not disclosed by the doctors.
Fresh Evidence to be Merged with Main Case
According to Ingale, the newly submitted documents span approximately 25 pages and include entries from hospital records, statements of medical personnel and officers, and other corroborating details. This evidence will be included in the primary chargesheet and two supplementary chargesheets already filed against the 10 accused individuals.
Among those charged are the teenager’s parents, two Sassoon hospital doctors, a mortuary attendant, two intermediaries, a jeweller, a labour contractor, and a businessman involved in aviation parts. The court is expected to finalize draft charges shortly, paving the way for trial proceedings.
Background: Deadly Porsche Crash and Aftermath
The case stems from a tragic accident on May 19, 2024, when the minor, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, crashed a Porsche Taycan into a two-wheeler at high speed near the Kalyaninagar junction around 2:30 AM. The victims—both young software engineers—died on the spot.
The teenager, son of a prominent builder, was reportedly returning home to Wadgaon Sheri after a night out at pubs in Mundhwa. Initial investigation suggested attempts were made to dilute the case, including tampering with medical evidence at Sassoon Hospital.
Subsequently, Pune Police unearthed a conspiracy involving hospital staff and others to replace the teenager’s blood sample. Two senior doctors and a mortuary staffer from Sassoon Hospital were arrested for their alleged involvement.
Bail and Judicial Custody
Recently, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to the teenager’s mother, while the other nine adult accused remain lodged in Yerawada Central Jail. The Juvenile Justice Board is currently hearing two separate chargesheets against the minor.
