Katraj, 11th July 2025: In a touching celebration of inclusion, ability, and hope, YOUTH – The Power to Change organization is all set to host its annual cultural event ‘Udaan’ under its flagship initiative ‘Let’s Inspire’. The event will bring together nearly 200 specially-abled children from across Pune, offering them a vibrant platform to showcase their extraordinary talents through dance, music, and other cultural performances.

The grand event will take place on July 12, 2025, at Annabhau Sathe Auditorium, Padmavati, starting at 11 am, with free entry for all attendees. Organizers have called on Punekars to attend and support the young performers whose stories reflect courage, perseverance, and boundless creativity.

What sets this year’s celebration apart is the presence of Padma Shri awardee Shri Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist swimmer. His journey—from overcoming severe war injuries to becoming a national sports icon—embodies the very essence of Udaan, which seeks to empower children with special needs to rise above perceived limitations.

“His presence will undoubtedly infuse the event with motivation and will serve as a living example of triumph over adversity,” said Advocate Rohan P. Shetty, Founder and President of YOUTH – The Power to Change. “We are proud to present this inclusive platform, and we invite everyone to witness and cheer for these inspiring performers.”

Adding to the event’s prestige, several prominent dignitaries will also be in attendance, including Adv. Hemant Zanjad (President, Pune Bar Association), Adv. Kalpana Nikam (President, Family Court Lawyers Association), and Dr. Manoj Tarambale (Principal, PVG College of Engineering, Technology and Management). Their presence signals growing institutional support for creating inclusive spaces in society.

As a highlight of the program, 11 specially-abled students will be felicitated for their exceptional achievements in various fields. These young changemakers are being recognized for their academic, creative, and personal accomplishments, sending a strong message that ability is not defined by disability.

With vibrant cultural performances and powerful moments of recognition, Udaan 2025 promises to be more than just an event—it is a movement toward empathy, equity, and empowerment.
