Pune: Six Lost Trekkers Rescued Safely from Visapur Fort After 3.5-Hour Search Operation

Lonavala, 13th July 2025: In a successful late evening rescue operation on Saturday, six young trekkers who lost their way while descending from Visapur Fort were safely brought down by a local rescue team after more than three and a half hours of strenuous efforts.

The group, which had started their trek from Patan village, lost track of the return route and was stranded on the hill. Members of the Shivdurg Rescue Team – Aniket Ambekar, Vishal Shinde, and Sagar Kumbhar – swiftly responded and managed to locate and escort all six individuals to safety.

The Rescued Trekkers Are:

  1. Omkar Appasaheb Shinde, 19, resident of Ahilyanagar
  2. Parth Naresh Magar, 19, resident of Buldhana
  3. Kshitija Atul Jain, 20, resident of Nashik
  4. Supriya Vitthal Shinde, 20, resident of Jalna
  5. Dhanashree Jagannath Shinde, 21, resident of Jalna
  6. Sneha Sitaram Bhingare, 19, resident of Rahuri, Ahilyanagar

All six are currently studying at a college in Akurdi. The group reportedly walked from the fort to Malavli Railway Station after the rescue. Thanks to the timely intervention of the rescue team, there were no injuries or medical emergencies reported.
