Pune, 15th July 2025: The Pune City Congress has raised serious concerns about growing civic issues, including garbage accumulation, the nuisance of stray animals, and attacks on citizens, while also questioning the environmental impact of concrete roads on hill areas. A formal representation was submitted to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), urging immediate action.

The representation was submitted by Ramdas Marne, President of the Environment Department of the Congress party, who met Additional Municipal Commissioner Omprakash Divate to convey the demands.
One of the key issues highlighted was the concretization of footpaths on Taljai Hill. The Congress party demanded that this road be closed immediately and the natural pathway be restored to preserve the ecological balance of the hill.

Additional demands made by the Congress delegation include:
Strict punitive measures against individuals and entities found burning garbage.
A comprehensive and humane solution to control the stray dog population.
Effective implementation of the Zero Waste system across city limits.

The Congress party emphasized that timely and committed action by the civic administration is essential to address the city’s worsening environmental and public health challenges.
