Pimpri-Chinchwad, 16th July 2025: As part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal constructions, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) carried out a major demolition drive on Tuesday in the areas of Chikhali, Talawade, and Rupee Nagar. A total of 12 unauthorized constructions, covering approximately 6,821 square feet, were removed for being built without the necessary permissions from the municipal authorities.

The action was taken under the directives of PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh and was supervised by Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil. The operation was led by Atul Patil, Ward Officer of the F Ware Office.

The demolition included illegally constructed floors and tin-shed structures that were part of multi-storey buildings. To ensure smooth execution and prevent any resistance, a large police force was deployed in the affected areas. The operation also involved the use of JCBs and Poklan machines. Personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, and various PCMC departments were actively involved in the drive.

Officials confirmed that the buildings targeted during this action were built in violation of municipal regulations. The PCMC reiterated its commitment to continue action against unauthorized developments across the city to maintain planned urban growth and ensure compliance with construction norms.
