Kalyani Nagar, 21st July 2025: Residents of Kalyani Nagar have raised safety concerns after a Traffic Police booth was set up on the footpath at Adlabs Chowk. Locals allege that the placement of the booth forces pedestrians to walk on the busy road, especially on the curve leading from Adlabs Chowk to DMart, increasing the risk of accidents.

“The traffic department has placed this directly on the footpath last night,” said Haresh Bharwani, a local resident. “Pedestrian access is completely blocked. Children, elderly people, and daily walkers now have no choice but to walk on the road, especially during peak traffic hours. This is extremely dangerous.”

Residents emphasised that footpaths are crucial for pedestrian safety, and the obstruction undermines their purpose. They are urging the authorities to relocate the booth to a safer, more suitable spot.

In response to this, Inspector Sangita Jadhav has given an that the booth will be removed at the earliest to prevent inconvenience and ensure public safety.

While the booth may have been intended to assist with traffic regulation, its placement has sparked safety concerns. Prompt action by the authorities to remove or shift the booth will help restore safe pedestrian access in the area.
