Pune: Minor Boy Damages Car Over Staring Incident in Dhanori; Case to Be Registered
Vishrantwadi, 23rd July 2025: Tension flared in Dhanori on Wednesday morning after a 16-year-old boy allegedly vandalized a four-wheeler in Munjaba Vasti, Lane No. 5, under Vishrantwadi police station limits.
According to police, the minor was walking through the area around 6:30 AM when he noticed a group of children looking in his direction. Provoked by what he perceived as them staring at him, he picked up a wooden stick and smashed the glass of a parked car.
Senior Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav of Vishrantwadi Police Station said, “The boy reacted aggressively on the pretext that the children standing there were staring at him. He used a stick to break the glass of a four-wheeler and caused damage.”
Local residents, angered by the sudden act of violence, allegedly assaulted the boy before police arrived. He was then rushed to Sassoon General Hospital for treatment. “His condition is currently stable, and a CT scan has been ordered as a precaution,” Jadhav added.

Police have confirmed that the boy has no prior criminal record. “We are in the process of registering a case in connection with the incident,” Jadhav said.
Further investigation is underway.
