Pune: Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration to be Held at Department of Sainik Welfare
Pune, 24th July 2025: To commemorate the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Department of Sainik Welfare will honour the bravery and sacrifice of the martyrs of the Kargil War by felicitating their Veerpatnis (war widows), Veer Matas, Veer Pitas (parents of martyrs), as well as soldiers who sustained disabilities during the war and recipients of gallantry awards.
The program will be held on Saturday, July 26, at 10 AM at the Department of Sainik Welfare in Pune. On this occasion, a new initiative titled “NALSA Veer Parivaar Sahayata Yojana 2025” will be launched jointly by the Pune Department of Sainik Welfare and the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, Mumbai.
As part of this scheme, a Legal Aid Centre will be inaugurated to provide free and efficient legal assistance to ex-servicemen and their families.
Lieutenant Colonel SD Hange (Retd.), District Sainik Welfare Officer, Pune, has appealed to Veerpatnis, parents of martyred soldiers, ex-servicemen, and their dependents in the district to attend the event in large numbers.
