Pune: Government Women Employees Who Misused ‘Ladki Bahin’ Scheme to Face Recovery, Action: Minister Aditi Tatkare

Manchar, 31st July 2025: Maharashtra Women and Child Welfare Minister Aditi Tatkare announced that government-employed women who illegally availed benefits under the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme will face strict administrative action and be required to repay the amount. She made the statement during a women’s convention held in Manchar, Ambegaon taluka, on the occasion of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s birthday.

Tatkare confirmed that complaints had been received about ineligible government employees availing the scheme’s benefits. “An investigation is underway, and once confirmed, the money will be recovered from those employees and deposited back into the state treasury. Additionally, they will face appropriate administrative consequences,” she stated.

The event was attended by senior leaders including former Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil, Former MP Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, among other local representatives.

Highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment, Tatkare credited Ajit Pawar, state party president Sunil Tatkare, and Walse-Patil for their contributions. Walse-Patil emphasized financial independence for women, noting that the District Central Cooperative Bank is offering loans up to Rs 10 lakh to support women-led business ventures, and urged further efforts to encourage female entrepreneurship.
