Pune: No Injustice to Locals in Purandar Airport Land Acquisition, Says Union MoS Murlidhar Mohol
Pune, 3rd August 2025: Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol has assured that no injustice will be done to native ‘bhumiputras’ (locals) during the Purandar Airport land acquisition process, which has now commenced.
Mohol was in Baramati for the distribution of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi funds. Following the event, he performed Abhishek and Mahapuja at the Khandoba Temple in Jejuri. Speaking to reporters afterwards, he addressed concerns surrounding the airport project.
“Purandar Airport is much needed. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, have made the decision on land acquisition,” Mohol stated.
Mohol continued, “Wherever an airport comes up in the country, it is the responsibility of the state government to provide the land, and the Maharashtra government will handle this process. Throughout this process, no injustice will be done to the bhumiputras and farmers. Their trust will be secured before proceeding with any acquisition. It is important for public representatives here to work in coordination with the farmers. Building trust among all stakeholders is crucial.”
