Pune, 7th August 2025: The Pune Regional Division team of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) clinched the first prize at the company’s prestigious state-level inter-regional drama competition, held recently in Nashik. Their play ‘Doctor, Tumhi Sudhha!’ won the Best Play award, while Nagpur’s ‘Rangbavari’ was declared the runner-up.

The competition, organized at the Mahakavi Kalidas Kalamandir in Nashik, featured high-quality performances from all four regional divisions—Pune, Nagpur, Konkan, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar—each bringing diverse and thought-provoking themes to the stage. The event drew an enthusiastic response from Nashik’s theatre-loving audience.

The two-day competition concluded on Wednesday, August 6, with an award ceremony graced by several senior officials. Joint Managing Director of the Konkan Division, Dilip Jagdale, presided over the function, while Chief Guest Arvind Bhadikar (Chief General Manager – Customer Services), Dattatraya Bansode (Chief Vigilance Officer), and several Chief Engineers including Sunder Latpate (also the competition convenor), Harish Gajabe (Chandrapur), Chandramani Mishra (Kalyan), Sanjay Patil (Bhandup), and Pawankumar Kachhot (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) were present. Sanjay Dhoke, Chief Industrial Relations Officer and Competition Coordinator, was also in attendance.
Trophies, mementos, and certificates were awarded to winners in team and individual categories by the dignitaries. The jury for the competition included respected theatre personalities Prabhakar Dupare, Chandrakant Jadkar, and Meenakshi Kende.

Speaking on the occasion, Dilip Jagdale praised the participants for their dedication, noting, “Despite their demanding schedules, MSEDCL employees have delivered high-quality theatrical performances. This competition serves as a rejuvenating experience and showcases the creative talent within the organization.”

The event was attended by a large number of MSEDCL officers, engineers, employees, and theatre enthusiasts. The ceremony was compered by Public Relations Officer Vikas Adhe and theatre artist Sandeep Pachange.
