Pune: Rotary Club of Pune Amanora Hosts Peace March on 79th Independence Day

Hadapsar, 15th August 2025: The Rotary Club of Pune Amanora organized an impactful Peace March on India’s Independence Day, August 15, 2025, to advocate for peace, harmony, unity in diversity, and peaceful coexistence within communities.

This event brings together Rotarians from various clubs, school & college students, and community members in a display of solidarity and commitment to these vital principles.

The march commenced from the Fern Club and culminated at the Future Plaza, symbolizing a journey towards a more united and harmonious society. During the procession, students showcased their talents through engaging song and dance performances, while members of the Rotary Club led the group in singing inspirational songs of peace and harmony. The Rotract Club of Ajkenkya DY Patil Group also joined and participated. “The best way to live and coexist is to live with peace” said Varad Khopkar Secretary of the Rotract Club

“In a world grappling with conflicts, it’s crucial to reinforce the message of peace and understanding,” says President Rtn. DD Mishra of the Rotary Club of Pune Amanora. “This Peace March offers a platform for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to come together, emphasizing that our strength lies in our diversity, and a peaceful coexistence is attainable.” The interact Club of Rotray also participated. The AG of the zone Rupesh also participated.

Unite for Good independence day rally at Amanora

The March was coordinated by Rtn. Shamim Bootwala ( Dir. Peace & Conflict Resolution), who believes, ” The Building blocks for peace are love and empathy. Peace and prosperity are two sides of the same coin. Peace needs collective endeavor and cannot be achieved in isolation. We have taken a small step toward these bigger objectives. Ordinary people will build an extraordinary Nation through peaceful coexistence.”

The march attracted a large number of participants, including community members who were voluntarily joining to support this significant initiative. Their collective presence will underscore the broad appeal of the message of peace and harmony. The march was largely appreciated by communities in and around Amanora Park Town. The kids and residents who contributed to the various slogans were facilitated by Rotray Club leadership. This march is one of its kind in the district 3131, and the Rotary Club of Pune Amanora has a strong commitment to peace and inclusivity since its inception.
