Pune: Man Allegedly Kidnapped and Assaulted by Wife and In-Laws Over Affair
Hinjawadi, 21st August 2025: A man was allegedly kidnapped and assaulted by his wife, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law after she discovered his extramarital affair. The incident took place around 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
According to the complaint lodged at Hinjawadi police station (Pimpri Chinchwad police), the 26-year-old woman with whom the man was having an affair reported that she was attacked by his wife and family members. Police said the man had been in a relationship with the complainant for the past few months, which had led to frequent quarrels between him and his wife.
On Wednesday evening, the complainant went to the man’s office and called him outside, telling him that a courier had arrived. An argument broke out between the two, following which the complainant decided to approach Wakad police station. However, on her way, she was intercepted and allegedly assaulted inside a vehicle by the man’s wife, her sister, and their mother.
“The complainant has stated that the accused not only beat her up but also threatened her, warning her to stay away from the man,” a police officer said.
Based on her complaint, Hinjawadi police have registered a case against the wife, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. Further investigation is underway.
