Police Commissioner Inspects Mandals Ahead of Festivities

Pune, 23rd August 2025: With Ganeshotsav set to begin on August 27, Pune city is preparing for one of its largest and most celebrated festivals. Known worldwide for its grand celebrations, this year’s Ganeshotsav is expected to draw even larger crowds, as the state government has accorded it the status of a state festival.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said that preparations for this year’s festival are being planned in line with the elevated status of Ganeshotsav. “With Ganeshotsav now recognized as a state festival, we are coordinating all arrangements to ensure the celebrations are safe, smooth, and enjoyable for citizens and visitors alike,” he said.

On Saturday, Commissioner Kumar, along with senior police officers and staff, conducted inspections of several Ganesh Mandals across the city. The team began their inspection at one of the city’s first Ganesh Mandals and visited multiple locations to assess security and crowd management arrangements.

The police have announced that enhanced measures, including traffic management, crowd control, and emergency response plans, will be implemented across Pune to ensure a safe and festive environment for everyone.
