In this context, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has issued an order allowing public Ganesh Mandals to use loudspeakers and amplifiers for seven days during the festival. The permission will be valid daily from 6 am to 12 midnight, subject to compliance with noise pollution regulations.

This order modifies the earlier directive of January 31, 2025, regarding restrictions on the use of loudspeakers and amplifiers. As per the revised notification, exemptions have been granted for the following days of Ganesh Festival:
Saturday, August 30
Sunday, August 31
Monday, September 1
Tuesday, September 2
Wednesday, September 3
Thursday, September 4
Saturday, September 6

Exemptions have also been approved for Navratri on October 1 and 2, Christmas on December 25, and New Year’s Eve on December 31. Additionally, one day has been reserved for any important event requiring special permission.

The order emphasizes strict adherence to Rules 3 and 4 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and Rule 5(3) of the amended 2017 regulations. Authorities have clarified that volume levels must remain within prescribed limits for each zone and that the relaxation will not apply to silence zones such as hospitals, schools, and courts.
