UIDAI Introduces Home Visit Facility for Baal Aadhaar Enrollment
New Delhi, 29th August 2025: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made it easier for parents to obtain Aadhaar cards for newborns and young children through the Baal Aadhaar (Blue Aadhaar) scheme. Recognizing the challenges of visiting Aadhaar centers with infants, UIDAI now offers a home-visit service, allowing officials to enroll children directly at their residences.
How to Apply for Baal Aadhaar
Parents can begin the process online via the UIDAI website:
Visit the UIDAI website and navigate to the “My Aadhaar” tab.
Select “Book an Appointment” and choose your city and Aadhaar service center.
Opt for “New Aadhaar Enrollment for Child.”
Enter a mobile number to receive an OTP and confirm the appointment.
On the appointment day, parents should visit the center with the child and necessary documents, including the child’s birth certificate and the Aadhaar card of either parent. Biometric verification is carried out for the parent, while the child’s photograph is captured.
Age Limit and Biometric Updates
There is no minimum age for Baal Aadhaar; even newborns can be enrolled. Children below five years of age do not provide biometric data during enrollment. The Baal Aadhaar is linked to the Aadhaar of the parents.
Card Delivery and Future Updates
After enrollment, parents receive a slip, and the child’s Aadhaar card is delivered within 60 to 90 days to the registered address. Biometric updates are required when the child turns five and again at 15, ensuring the Aadhaar remains valid and accurate for future use.
With this initiative, UIDAI aims to simplify Aadhaar enrollment for children and provide greater convenience to parents across the country.
