Pune, 29th August 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has secured the first rank in Maharashtra for its outstanding performance in the state government’s 150-day mission under the e-governance improvement program.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis felicitated Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram for this achievement at a meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on Friday.

The meeting, chaired by CM Fadnavis, was attended by senior officials, including Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B. P. and representatives of various municipal bodies. Several departments made progress presentations, after which PMC was adjudged the best-performing civic body in the state.

Presenting PMC’s progress, Commissioner Ram highlighted seven key factors that helped the civic body secure the top rank, including the use of technology to resolve pending issues within 150 days and delivering citizen-centric services through digital platforms.

Major achievements showcased by PMC:
Website and Mobile Apps: PMC has developed a mobile-friendly bilingual website with 36 micro-sites. Around 67 lakh citizens accessed the website in a year. Apps such as PMC Care, Road Mitra, and PMC ISWM have also gained traction.

Online Services: Of the 97 services covered under the Right to Public Services Act, 89 have been digitized. In the past year, 2.25 lakh citizens benefited from these services.

Grievance Redressal: Citizens can now lodge complaints through 10 different channels, including mobile apps, WhatsApp, and social media. Over 1.15 lakh complaints were resolved in the last year.

E-Office Implementation: More than 2,500 employees now use the e-office system, speeding up administrative processes.

Use of GIS and Technology: GIS has been deployed for Road Asset Management and Integrated Works Management, making planning more efficient.

Data and Analytics: A central dashboard with 500 key performance indicators (KPIs) across 40 departments is under development. PMC has also launched PMC Spark, a war room where 50 projects are reviewed fortnightly.

AI Integration: PMC is offering online services via its website and a WhatsApp chatbot. Plans are underway to use artificial intelligence for analyzing complaints and improving property tax recovery.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Ram said the civic body’s focus on technology-driven governance and faster delivery of citizen services were crucial in achieving the milestone.

With this recognition, Pune Municipal Corporation has set a benchmark in e-governance for other civic bodies across Maharashtra.
