Pune: IMD Forecast Cloudy Skies and Light Showers for Pune, Heavy Rain in Ghats

Pune, 4th September 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cloudy skies and intermittent rainfall across Pune and its surrounding areas over the next week, with heavier showers likely in the ghat regions.

According to the IMD’s local forecast issued on Thursday, Pune and neighbourhood areas including Lohegaon, Chinchwad, Lavale, Magarpatta, Koregaon Park, Pashan, and NDA will experience very light to light rain through the week. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 27°C and 33°C, while minimum temperatures will remain between 20°C and 25°C.

Key Forecast Details:

September 4–5: Generally cloudy skies, light rain expected. Isolated places in the ghats may see heavy to very heavy rainfall.

September 6: Light rain likely across the city, with heavy showers possible in hilly regions.

September 7–10: Cloudy conditions with very light to light rainfall predicted. Daytime highs may touch 33°C in Lohegaon and nearby areas.

The IMD has cautioned travellers and residents heading through the Western Ghats to remain alert, as localized heavy rainfall may cause waterlogging, slippery roads, and visibility issues.
