Pune: Government Invites Proposals to Rent Buildings for New Girls’ Hostels in Pune

Pune, 4th September 2025: The Social Justice and Special Assistance Department has announced that new government hostels for backward-class girls will be set up in Pune, as part of initiatives marking the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.

Two hostels, each with a capacity of 250 students, have been sanctioned at Pune Cantonment and Kothrud. To operationalize these hostels, the department is seeking to rent private buildings that meet the required specifications.

Requirements for Proposed Buildings:
Total area: 20,000–25,000 sq. ft.
Accommodation capacity for 250 girl students
At least 25–30 rooms
Adequate toilets and bathrooms
Proper lighting and drinking water facilities
Water storage tanks
Protective boundary wall
