Pune: PMPML Announces Temporary Bus Arrangements for Ganesh Visarjan Procession
Pune, 5th September 2025: In view of the Ganesh Visarjan processions, major traffic changes will be enforced in Pune’s central areas on Saturday. To ensure smooth public transport, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. (PMPML) has announced temporary changes in bus stops and routes.
According to officials, Swargate Chowk and Deccan Chowk will remain closed during the processions. Key roads, including Shivaji Maharaj Road, Bajirao Road, Laxmi Road, Tilak Road, and Karve Road, will also be shut for bus movement.
To minimize inconvenience, buses that usually operate from these hubs will instead run from temporary bus stations.
Temporary Bus Arrangements:
Shahu Maharaj Bus Stand (Swargate)
For Satara Road, Katraj, and Market Yard routes → buses will operate from Laxmi Narayan Chowk.
Natraj Bus Stand
For Sinhgad Road routes- buses will operate from Parvati Paytha (Swami Samarth Math bus stop).
Swargate (outside station) – Solapur Road routes
For Pul Gate and Hadapsar, buses will depart from Vega Centre near Swargate Depot.
Swargate (outside station) – Bhawani Peth, Nana Peth, Rasta Peth routes
Buses will depart from Vega Centre near Swargate Depot.
Deccan Gymkhana Bus Stand
For Kothrud Depot, Malwadi, NDA Gate, buses will operate from SNDT College bus stop.
The PMPML administration has appealed to passengers to take note of these temporary arrangements and cooperate with authorities to avoid inconvenience during the festive processions.
