Kothrud, 17th October 2025: The troubles of wanted gangster Nilesh Ghaywal, the main accused in the Kothrud firing case, have deepened further. Pune Police have registered a new case against him for allegedly posting videos and reels on social media that spread fear and incite criminal activity. Ghaywal, who is currently absconding, is now facing multiple investigations on several fronts.

According to officials, Ghaywal had recently shared disturbing videos and posts on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, apparently aimed at spreading terror and glorifying criminal behaviour. Taking serious note of these activities, the Kothrud police registered offences under sections related to promoting criminal acts and creating panic in society.

Meanwhile, police have also moved to seal ten flats reportedly under Ghaywal’s illegal possession within the Kothrud police station limits. Investigations have revealed that the gangster had occupied these flats unlawfully and was earning money by renting them out. Following these findings, the Police Commissioner has ordered all the flats to be sealed.

In another development, Pune Police have launched a financial investigation into Ghaywal’s overseas transactions, particularly focusing on the education expenses of his son, who is currently studying abroad. Police have sought details from the concerned foreign university to determine the exact fee amount and the source of payment.

Earlier, a Blue Corner Notice was issued against Ghaywal, and his house in Kothrud was raided and sealed. With the latest case and property action, police sources said efforts are being intensified to trace and arrest him.

Overall, Pune Police are tightening the net around Ghaywal by pursuing legal, financial, and cyber angles to dismantle his network and bring him to justice.
