Pune: Hinjawadi Restaurant Booked for Serving Liquor on Kartiki Ekadashi Dry Day
Hinjawadi, 3rd November 2025: The Hinjawadi Police have registered a case against a restaurant and its owners for allegedly serving liquor on the Kartiki Ekadashi dry day, in violation of the state’s alcohol ban in force across Maharashtra.
The action was initiated after Police Constable Ajit Shinde filed a complaint at the Hinjawadi Police Station, prompting the registration of an FIR against Parshuram Monappa Dhamnekar (48), a resident of Nigdi, who owns Bottoms Up Nx Family Resto and Lounge; manager Hanumant Sayba Kamble (37) from Hinjawadi; and landowners Pankaj and Shubham Sakhare, both brothers.
According to police, the restaurant, situated in Hijawadi’s Sakhare Wasti, was caught serving alcoholic beverages to customers despite the state-wide prohibition on liquor sales for the religious occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi.
During a police raid, it was found that the establishment had sold liquor worth more than Rs 44,000 throughout the day. Investigators further noted that the restaurant did not possess the mandatory licence required for serving alcohol. The property owners were also found to have rented out the premises despite knowing that the tenants lacked valid permits.
Further, the Police have launched a detailed probe into this matter.
