Vishrantwadi, 14th November 2025: Four constables from the Crime Branch have been suspended for allegedly misbehaving with traders and asserting, “We are police; no one can do anything to us.”

All four were deployed as ‘Cops 24 Beat Marshals’ in the Vishrantwadi area. The action was initiated by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingale.

The suspended personnel have been identified as Yogesh Suresh Mali, Mukesh Shridhar Walle, Shankar Datta Dhotre, and Kailas Sheshrav Fupate. They were attached to the Vishrantwadi Police Station under the Crime Branch’s Cops 24 Beat Marshal unit.

According to the complaint, on November 11 around 9 pm, traders from the Alandi Road outpost approached the local police chowki alleging that the officers had threatened them. The traders claimed the constables told them, “We are police; no one can touch us. If you ask us for money, we will not allow you to run your business in this area.”

Senior officials questioned the four constables the following morning, but they were reportedly unable to give satisfactory explanations for their conduct. Following this, DCP Pingale ordered their suspension on Thursday (13th).

As per the suspension order, all four must report to the Police Headquarters daily until further instructions.
