Pune: Three Habitual Offenders Held with Four Pistols, Five Live Cartridges in Mohammadwadi
Kale Padal, 17th November 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal firearms, the Kalepadal Police arrested three habitual offenders and seized four country-made pistols and five live cartridges worth ₹2.42 lakh from Mohammadwadi on Sunday.
The action followed a tip-off received during routine patrolling by constables Shahid Shaikh and Dawood Sayyed from Kalepadal Police Station. An informer alerted the police that a known criminal, Asif Sabirkha Teli (21), and his associates were on the mud road between Heaven Park and Laxmi Park near Palkhi Road and were allegedly carrying weapons, possibly planning a serious crime.
Acting on the information, PSI Vinayak Gurav informed Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil, who immediately formed a team and moved to the spot. The police found three individuals behaving suspiciously.
They were identified as:
* Asif Sabirkha Teli (21), resident of Sayyadnagar, Hadapsar
• Yash Subhash Madane (20), resident of Bhimratnanagar, Baramati
• Prathamesh Sandeep Londhe (24), resident of Vadgaon Nimbalkar, Nira Road, Baramati
A search conducted in the presence of panch witnesses led to the recovery of four country-made pistols and five live cartridges from their possession.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act, and the Mumbai Police Act at Kalepadal Police Station. All three accused have been arrested.
The operation was executed under the guidance of DCP Zone 5 Rajkumar Shinde, ACP Wanwadi Division Dhanykumar Godse, and Senior PI Mansing Patil. The police team included API Amit Shete, PSI Vinayak Gurav, and personnel Pravin Kalbhor, Dawood Sayyed, Pratik Lahigude, Sanjay Bagal, Amol Fadtare, Vishal Thombre, Shahid Shaikh, Laxman Kale, Atul Pandharkar, Nitin Dhole, Saddam Tamboli, and Mahadev Shinde.
Police officials stated that the timely action likely prevented a major crime.
