Viman Nagar, 28th November 2025: Panic gripped the Mhada Colony area of Viman Nagar on Wednesday night after a gang of four men, brandishing sharp weapons (Koytas), vandalized a local paan shop. CCTV footage of the brazen act has surfaced online and is rapidly going viral on social media.

The incident occurred on November 26, 2025, between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM near the Optimus Society in Viman Nagar.

Sohel Javed Malik (23), who runs “Sohel Paan Shop,” has lodged a complaint at Vimantal (Airport) Police Station. At the time of the incident, he had stepped away to use the washroom, leaving his younger brother in charge of the shop. During his absence, four unidentified men approached the counter and asked for a packet of cigarettes.

As per the CCTV video, two of the men—one wearing a black jacket and the other a white jacket—suddenly pulled out sharp sickles (Koytas) concealed on their persons. They struck the counter with the weapons and violently swept the shop’s inventory, including jars and a tea thermos, onto the ground.

“Don’t Mess With Us”
The FIR details a harrowing scene where the accused waved their weapons in the air to intimidate the public. While abusing the shopkeeper, they reportedly shouted, “We are the Dons here. Don’t mess with us” (Hum yaha ke Don hai, amchya nadala lagayche nay).

The gang threatened to kill the complainant before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. The open display of weapons caused widespread panic, forcing bystanders and local residents to flee the spot in fear.

Police have registered FIR for offences under:
Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023: Sections 324(4) (Mischief), 352 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 351(2) (Criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (Joint criminal liability).
