Pune: Sub Registrar in Police Custody Till 15th December in Mundhwa Government Land Sale Case
Pimpri, 9th December 2025: Deputy Sub-Registrar Ravindra Balkrishna Taru (58) has been arrested in connection with a ₹6-crore land sale fraud involving 40 hectares of government land in Mundhwa. He was produced before the Paud court on Monday and remanded to police custody till December 15.
The complaint in the case was lodged by Class-I Deputy District Registrar Santosh Hingane. Earlier, Pune City Police had arrested Sheetal Kishanchand Tejwani, who held the power of attorney for the disputed land and remains in police custody.
The FIR, registered on November 6 at Bavdhan Police Station, names three accused: Sheetal Tejwani; Digvijay Amarsingh Patil, a partner in Amadea Enterprises LLP—where Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar is also a partner; and registrar Ravindra Taru, who allegedly facilitated the registration.
According to the complaint, Patil and Tejwani executed the transaction despite the 7/12 extract clearly showing the land as government-owned. They also allegedly avoided paying stamp duty of nearly ₹6 crore by completing the deal without the mandatory permissions, causing financial loss to the state exchequer.
The property registration took place on May 20, 2025, at the Haveli-4 Sub-Registrar Office.
Taru was arrested from his residence in Bhor on Sunday. Police sought custody to verify the role he played and the documents he approved during the registration process. After hearing the request, the court granted eight days of police custody, Bavdhan Police Station Senior Inspector Anil Vibhute said.
