Bavdhan, 15th December 2025: In a fresh development in the Mundhwa Mahar Watan land scam investigation, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police on Monday questioned Digvijay Patil, a partner in Amadea Enterprises LLP, in connection with the alleged illegal transfer of government-owned land in Pune. Patil, who is also a cousin of Parth Pawar, visited Bavdhan Police Station where his statement was formally recorded as part of the ongoing probe.

Police sources said Patil appeared before investigators after being issued a notice, nearly two weeks after the arrest of co-accused Sheetal Tejwani by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Pune Police. Though Patil is named in two FIRs linked to the case, no arrest has been made so far.

Patil arrived at the police station along with his legal team on Monday morning and was questioned for over three hours. Officials confirmed that the interrogation focused on his role as a partner in Amadea Enterprises LLP, the firm that allegedly purchased the disputed land.

Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vishal Gaikwad said the investigation is still at a critical stage. “Digvijay Patil was present at Bavdhan Police Station today. His statement has been recorded. We will examine the contents of the statement carefully. Based on the findings and evidence, further action, including arrest, will be decided,” Gaikwad told reporters.

The DCP added that police have obtained an additional four days of custody of suspended sub-registrar Ravindra Balkrushna Taru, who was detained late on December 8. “We have sought further custodial interrogation of Taru to probe the registration process and procedural lapses.

Meanwhile, as the custody of Sheetal Tejwani is coming to an end, efforts are being made to seek her custody from the concerned court,” he said.

The case pertains to alleged large-scale irregularities in the sale of nearly 40 acres of Mahar Watan land in Mundhwa, which is government-owned and legally barred from private sale. Investigators allege that the land was unlawfully transferred for approximately Rs 300 crore using forged documents and invalid permissions.

According to the police, Sheetal Kishanchand Tejwani, who held power of attorney for the original Watandars, is accused of facilitating the illegal transactions, suppressing key financial information, and misleading authorities. She has also been arrested in a separate land scam in Bopodi, registered at Khadak Police Station.

Suspended sub-registrar Taru is accused of registering the sale deed outside his jurisdiction, allegedly bypassing mandatory legal checks. Digvijay Patil, as a partner in the buyer firm Amadea Enterprises LLP, has been named in the FIRs for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy.

Parth Pawar, also a partner in Amadea Enterprises LLP, has not been named as an accused in the FIRs. However, officials indicated that his exclusion from the case is being examined as part of judicial proceedings.

Multiple FIRs related to the Mundhwa land deal have been registered, including cases at Bavdhan and Khadak police stations. Police have maintained that further arrests may follow as the investigation progresses and financial trails are scrutinised.
