Pune: Divisional Commissioner Reviews Preparations for January 1 Victory Pillar Tribute Event Near Pune

Pune, 17th December 2025: Ahead of the annual Victory Pillar (Vijay Stambh) tribute ceremony scheduled on January 1, which is expected to draw thousands of visitors, Divisional Commissioner Dr Chandrakant Pulkundwar on Tuesday conducted an on-site inspection of the Vijay Stambh area at Perne Phata in Haveli taluka to review administrative preparedness.

During the inspection, Dr Pulkundwar reviewed arrangements related to parking facilities, crowd movement, traffic regulation and basic amenities, and held detailed discussions with officials responsible for planning and execution. He issued instructions to ensure smooth logistics, adequate facilities and seamless coordination among departments for the large-scale public gathering.

The review meeting was attended by District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Special Inspector General of Police Sunil Phulari, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Gill, Social Welfare Commissioner Deepa Munde, BARTI Director General Sunil Ware, and Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Gajanan Patil, along with senior officers from the police, revenue, social welfare and local administration.

Officials from the Pune Rural Police, including Deputy Superintendent Himmat Jadhav, sub-divisional officers, tahsildars and local police personnel were also present. Representatives of various social organisations participated in the discussions and shared inputs related to crowd management and public convenience.

Emphasising the importance of inter-departmental coordination, the Divisional Commissioner directed authorities to prioritise law and order, public safety, traffic management and uninterrupted essential services during the commemorative programme, which is held annually to mark the historic event and witnesses large-scale participation.
