PCMC: Major Water Pipeline Leak Halts Supply Across Pimpri-Chinchwad on December 27
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 27th December 2025: Several neighbourhoods in Pimpri-Chinchwad are set to experience water supply disruption on Saturday, December 27, following emergency repair work on a key gravity water pipeline, civic officials said.
The unexpected damage prompted the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to suspend water supply temporarily to carry out emergency repairs.
According to PCMC officials, the leak was identified on December 26 along the main pipeline running through the Chinchwad–Walhekarwadi Road area. Immediate repair work was initiated to prevent further damage and ensure the integrity of the water network.
PCMC officials urged citizens to store water in advance and use it judiciously during the disruption. Authorities reassured the public that repair operations are being carried out on a priority basis and that normal water supply will be restored as soon as technically feasible.
The water shutdown, which began on Thursday night from Sector 23, is expected to impact several localities, including Wakad, Thergaon, Rahatani, Pimple Saudagar, Pimple Nilakh, Kalewadi, and Sangvi. Residents may experience weak water pressure or irregular supply throughout the day until repairs are completed and safety checks are cleared.
