According to the Traffic Department, the action was taken to prioritise public safety and reduce the risk of road accidents caused by traffic violations. During the three-day drive, strict action was initiated against motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol as well as two-wheeler riders carrying triple seats.
As part of the enforcement, a total of 232 motorists were booked for drunk driving under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act. In addition, action was taken against 720 two-wheeler riders for triple-seat violations. Of these, 121 motorcycles were seized by the traffic police.
