Pune: Ruby Hall Clinic Launches Dedicated Department of Mental Health
Pune, 7th April 2026: Ruby Hall Clinic further strengthened its commitment to holistic healthcare with the inauguration of its dedicated Department of Mental Health at its Corporate Building. The inauguration ceremony was led by eminent dignitaries including Dr. P. K. Grant, Chief Cardiologist, Chairman and Managing Trustee; Dr. Simon Grant, Physician and Trustee; Dr. Mudit Saxena Group CEO Ruby Hall Clinic, Mr. Urvaksh Bhote COO, Dr. Vivek Lal Group Medical Director and Dr. Hamza Hussain, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health, The initiative marks a significant step towards expanding structured, accessible, and integrated mental healthcare services within the hospital ecosystem.
Mental health has emerged as a growing public health concern globally and in India. According to national estimates, nearly 1 in 7 individuals in India is affected by some form of mental disorder, with conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related illnesses on the rise. Despite this, access to timely and specialised care remains limited due to stigma, lack of awareness, and fragmented services. While cities like Pune do have psychiatric services across hospitals and private clinics, there remains a critical need for more integrated, multidisciplinary, and easily accessible mental health departments within tertiary care institutions.
