Pune Swelters as Temperatures Hit 41°C; Clear Skies Forecast to Continue

Pune, 13th April 2026: Residents of Pune and its neighboring areas experienced a surge in heat today as maximum temperatures touched the 41°C mark in several localities.

According to the latest data released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the district is witnessing a spell of dry weather with no immediate relief in sight.

Lohegaon and Koregaon Park emerged as the hottest pockets in the region, both recording a realized maximum temperature of 41°C. In the city’s central Shivajinagar area, the mercury settled at 39°C. Other significant readings included:
Baramati: 39.8°C
Magarpatta: 39.2°C
Chinchwad: 37.7°C
NDA: 38.0°C
Lavale: 39.0°C
The minimum temperatures across the region ranged from a cool 19.4°C at the National Defence Academy (NDA) to a warmer 26.0°C in Magarpatta.

The weather remained bone-dry throughout the day, with 0 mm of rainfall recorded at all monitoring stations. Relative humidity levels showed significant variation across the suburbs; while Lohgaon recorded a dry 19%, Magarpatta saw humidity levels as high as 46%.

Week-Ahead Forecast
The IMD’s seven-day local forecast for Pune and its neighborhood indicates that the “Mainly clear sky” condition will persist until at least April 19, 2026. While a slight dip in temperature is expected toward the end of the week—with highs predicted to settle around 38°C by April 18—the next 48 hours will remain particularly hot, with peaks of 40°C to 41°C forecast for most areas.
