Mumbai-Pune Expressway Traffic Alert: Road to Be Closed for 3 Hours on April 23-24, Check Diversions
Lonavala, 21st April 2026: Traffic on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway will be temporarily suspended to facilitate ongoing bridge work by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), officials said on Tuesday.
According to MSRDC, the work involves removal of shuttering and painting of a bridge located at km 58/500 near Dongargaon–Kusgaon. As a result, vehicular movement on the expressway will be completely halted for specific hours on two consecutive days.
Traffic heading towards Mumbai will remain closed on April 23, 2026, from 12 pm to 3 pm. During this period, vehicles will be diverted via the Kiwale–Dehu Road–Talegaon route along National Highway 48, rejoining at Kusgaon toll plaza.
Similarly, traffic towards Pune will be suspended on April 24, 2026, from 12 pm to 3 pm. Vehicles will be rerouted via Kusgaon toll plaza onto National Highway 48 and diverted through Dehu Road–Kiwale towards Pune.
Authorities have advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and use the designated alternative routes during the closure period to avoid inconvenience.
