Pune: 62-Year-Old Man Goes Missing During Morning Walk in Hinjawadi Phase 3
Hinjawadi, 22nd April 2026: A 62-year-old man has been reported missing after stepping out for a morning walk from his residence in Hinjawadi Phase 3 on Wednesday morning. A formal missing person complaint has been registered at the Hinjawadi Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad police.
The missing senior citizen has been identified as Anand Motilal Shende.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by his 26-year-old son, Aryan Anand Shende, the incident occurred on the morning of April 22, 2026. Anand Shende left his apartment— Milansh Residency in Bhoirwadi, Hinjawadi Phase 3—at around 7:20 AM, telling his family that he was going for a walk.
When he failed to return home, his son, daughter Reshmi, and their friends launched an extensive search in the surrounding areas, including the broader Hinjawadi and Maangaon localities. The family also contacted their relatives, but no one had any information regarding his whereabouts.
Following the unsuccessful search, the family approached the Hinjawadi Police Station (under the Pimpri-Chinchwad police jurisdiction) and officially lodged a missing person complaint at 3:00 PM the same day. The family originally hails from Kumbharenagar in the Gondia district.
Description of the Missing Person: Police and family members have shared a physical description to help locate him. Anand Shende is 5 feet 3 inches tall, of fair complexion, and has a slim build. He has white hair, a round face, and speaks Marathi.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a brown shirt with white vertical and horizontal stripes (checks) and black sports track pants with vertical white stripes on the sides. Notably, he is not carrying a mobile phone or any valuable items with him, which has added to the family’s concerns.
The Hinjawadi police are currently investigating the matter and have appealed to the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts.
